The Never-ending Chapter

Monday, December 29, 2008

Merry Christmas everyone!! I know...it's late to wish now...but, I still want to. (^^,) I know that I've not been updating my blog lately, been busy with so many events. I'm enjoying my christmas this year very much, wanna know why? I received an Awesome Christmas gift and it's not from my parents, not from my relatives, not from my dog (if that's what you're thinking) nor from my friends... I received this particular gift from God himself.
What gift is it?

This gift I'm talking about brought me joy, laughter and happiness. God gave me a chance to see all my relatives from Sarawak, and from Australia. I was overjoyed when I heard they were coming over to Subang for a visit. I miss them lots. Not 0nly that, spending time with my little cousins also made me realise that children aren't really scary as what I thought. Seeing the smiles on their faces made me smile all the way.
All this time, I thought little children were scary...cause I had bad experiences with them in the past. But now, I don't feel the same way anymore. I think Little children bring hope and joy to the world, to everyone. The way they talk to you with their adorable, cute voices...their funny laughs which make you laugh, the way they get your attention by high-5-ing you...lols... I just couldn't stop smiling. And when they give you hugs, you will feel loved in so many ways. And that's why I say, God is truly an awesome God. His gift to all of us always make us all feel happy, it brings us hope. No words can describe His gift.
Ofcourse, the greatest gift He has ever given to the world, to all of us...is Jesus. He gave Jesus, His only son to die for us, the sinners. How awesome is His love. No one could ever give up their own son/daughter, just as He did. To me, every Christmas just makes me Love Him more. This is God's greatest gift to us, and we should cherish and remember it forever. Well, I gotta stop here for now. Will try to update my blog as often as possible. :)

~An Unexpected visitor/s~

Last night, my family and I were terribly disturbed when we came home to see our house upside down. Things were overturned, handbags were open, jewellery boxes were gone, drawers emptied, closet opened wide, gate locks destroyed completely...and a little scared dog hiding under the bed. Yes, you guessed it right...a burglary.

The way the house looked left us all terribly shaking and afraid inside. My heart beat was faster than ever before...I was full of shock and fear. I've never experienced a house burglary before ever in my life, till last night. I've only heard of them happening to the people around me. When we came home, we weren't sure whether the thieves were still inside...but my mum bravely rushed in anyway. It was a relief that they were gone.

As soon as my relatives staying nearby got to know what had happened, they paid us a visit to make sure we were okay. While they and my parents were having their own conversations, I quietly sat down by myself on the floor and was deep into my own thoughts. Why God? Why our family? What did we do to deserve this? Why now?

These were some of the thoughts which passed through my mind...I was confused.
Then, it struck me. All this happened for a purpose...and somehow, I heard a small whisper within my heart telling me about the Bible. I've been reading the book of Psalms for the past few weeks now, and I could recall what I had read. It was mostly about believing and trusting in the Lord no matter what happens cause there will be people who will try to rob our Faith. Things like being robbed, cheated, lied to, gossiped about...all this could take away our faith.

I realised that what my family and I have been going through are just little problems, and there were bigger ones out there which we weren't aware of. I think this burglary was one of the big ones. Then, it came to me. It seemed as if God was trying to test our Faith. He wants to prepare us. All this while, the problems we face are connected with our emotions, our social life...financial maybe...all that are actually little tests of God's. The big tests are those, when God allows things to happen which causes you to lose something more, even when you have already lost so much.

God wants to see how much we trust and have faith in Him...even through the most difficult times. God wants to know whether we will continue to serve and seek Him like we always do, no matter what He throws at you. Will our faith continue to live on...or die out? Will we continue to serve Him? That's the question. Psalms 42:5 says, "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Saviour and my God."

Our faith may be still burning right now...but will it last? We need to be prepared for the next BIG thing. We must be able to overcome our small problems before we can overcome the bigger ones. Anything might happen...you might not think so, but it will. From a rich family to a poor family, from a popular group to a non-popular group...it is possible. We have got to be aware.

As I went to bed last night, I was still full of fear and was shaking all over, even though I just finished reading the Bible. I tried closing my eyes to get some rest, but somehow...the worries of the burglar/s appearing again kept me awake. All the funny noises outside my bedroom door which I thought could be the burglar's awoke me every single time I closed my eyes. My heart was beating faster than it has ever beaten before. My palms were sweaty and I felt really uneasy. It felt like I wasn't 15 at all, I felt like a 5 year old who just had awaken from a nightmare.

To calm myself down, I kept whispering this phrase in my heart over and over again. " God will protect and keep my family safe. Don't worry. " And before I knew it, I fell asleep till the next morning. I still felt scared and worried though this morning cause I woke up around 7.30am which is one hour earlier than my normal wake up time. My mind couldn't be at peace.

I was thankful and grateful though, that non of my family members were hurt and that the burglars did not take my hand phone. I can't lose my phone cause my brother specially got it for me. It means a lot to me. :)

With Love,
Eilene

Pay it Forward

Friday, December 12, 2008

Hey again!~ (^^,)

Today's post is about a movie I watched a few days ago...on HBO..i think. xD Well, the title of this movie is 'Pay it Forward'. It was a really touching movie cause it made both my mum and I cry... :D So, i think it's gonna make you cry too!~ Give it a try if you're curious of what this movie is about. It's something about the Christian teaching...but you've got to figure it out from all the acting and drama. (^^,)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a tagline about the movie:
Like some other kids, 12-year-old Trevor McKinney believed in the goodness of human nature. Like many other kids, he was determined to change the world for the better. Unlike most other kids, he succeeded.
Three imperfect people. One perfect idea.
Sometimes The Simplest Idea Can Make The Biggest Difference.
Have You Heard?
When someone does you a big favor, don't pay it back... Pay It Forward
Some favours you are not allowed to pay back.
Is it possible for one idea to change the world?
A movie from the heart that connects with the heart.
#1 It has to be something that really helps people.
#2 Something they can't do by themselves.
#3 I do it for them, they do it for three other people. These are the rules when you pay it forward on October 20th.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here are a few pictures of the scenes from the movie itself. :)

I hope you guys will give this movie a try and see what it has to tell us...especially for us Christians. All I know is that this movie really moved and touched my heart...and it made me want to share this with all of you. You guys can check out youtube for this movie. :)
That's all from me today. Enjoy the movie!~ I'm sure you're gonna love it!!~ (^^,)

With love,

Eilene

FORM 5 FAREWELL

Monday, December 8, 2008

On the 5th of December, the CF of SMKSU had organized a Form 5 Farewell specially for all our form 5s. The event was a success and I think most of us who attended enjoyed the fun we had that night.

The night started of with an opening prayer and then, a simple ice-breaker. We then had Praise and Worship led by Reuben, followed with speeches given by some of the Form 5s after that. Appreciation gifts were also distributed in the form of DVDs provided by Jeremy and Edwin to every form 5 present. Leftovers were given to the rest of the non-form 5s, including me!~ (^^,)

Then it was time...to......MAKAN BANYAK-BANYAK!!! xD It was the best part of the event!! Everyone's tummy were just waiting to be filled. Hehe.. Here's the list of food served which I can remember:

1) Spaghetti

2) Fried rice

3) Egg sandwiches

4) Dunkin Donuts (smaller type)

5) Papaya & Watermelon

6) Fried mee hoon

7) Chicken Pie

8) Fish sotong ( long strips which we eat during CNY >.<)

9) Sausages

10) Ice-cream

11) Agar-agar

12) Cheese Cake

13) Pizza

Sounds yummy??? Come for next year's one then!!~ (^^,)

After our tummies were satisfied, we had games!!~ List of games played which i can recall:

1) Honey, if you love me please smile for me.

2) "Sat & sei? " (confusing game)

Last event of the night was Carolling!!! All of us gathered inside The Chu's living hall and we sang some Christms songs together. We were led by Sung Lin, Wei Shen and Othniel and WOW! can they really sing... xD Oh, there was one more event which took place...but it wasn't in our schedule list.

~ Sing-a-long ~

It was the CF tradition ceremony to 'Drown' the CF president. Yay!!~ Finally!!~

~ OUR SOAKING WET President xD~

Well, that was the end of that crazy night and it was fun!!~ Can't wait for next year's. (^^,)

~ The FAMILY~

We couldn't have done it without God's guidance and strength! He was with us throughout the planning of this event...especially when there were some panicking moments. :) All I know is God is a loving and caring God, a God who wouldn't let you down, no matter what. What we all have to do is just trust that He will provide and take care of everything, and it will be OKAY.

That's all from me for today, take care and God bless!~ (^^,)

With love,

~Eilene~

A beautiful wedding took place 3 days ago at The Life Chapel church and the ceremony went very smoothly. As the bride and groom exhanged vows, it was the sweetest and sadest moment for everyone present. For us, the students, it was sad because we won't be seeing Mrs. Chong (Ms. Tan) for a while cause she will be moving to Sarawak. As for their friends and relatives...you can ask them. (^^,)
Here are some of the shots from the wedding, which was taken with Edwin's camera :

Say I do, I do, I do, I do, I do.....(part of lyrics from Mamma Mia!!) (^^,)
*And they lived happily ever after...*
