Topic of today: Getting back up again

There will be times in life that we will have to face through tough challenges, and I mean ones which get you really depressed, worried, sad, emotional, disappointed...but keep in mind, you are not going through it alone.

We might get screamed at for doing something we did not do, and no matter how hard we tried to explain the truth... we were never given that chance. As a result, you walk away holding every anger inside you...just waiting to explode when you reach a place where you are alone.
We might even get emotional because that "someone" isn't giving you the time of the day and you think of all ways to get his/her attention, but it never worked out as planned. You start telling yourself that you are a coward, useless, a loser.
But how did it help?? Instead of helping yourself, you made yourself feel worse.

And how about being rejected and criticized by others, even by your loved ones?
You just can't accept what they're telling you...and you try to turn away and be stubborn in your own way. Then you start ignoring the people around you and try to show them that you aren't happy, with the sad face and all. But whenever someone comes to help you, you say that he/she is not helping and you walk away once more to be by yourself.

It's not like we have nothing else to do, it's that we do care...and we want to show you that we will always be there to lend you a crying shoulder whenever you needed it. But instead, you keep yourself away from us and try to solve your own problems alone. Then, you start blaming God for every negative thing which happens to you and say that He doesn't care about you at all. You keep asking God "why? why? Why me? " but it all actually leads back to you.

Do you know that God does care...no matter what situation you may be in? He's actually watching over you...guiding you all the way through your toughest times. It isn't God's intentions to let bad things happen to you, it was what you chose which allowed it to happen. God gave us a free choice...the freedom to make our own decisions...and ofcourse, every decision you make will have sacrifices or concequences.
So, it isn't His fault that you got yourself into this...it was your choice. So stop blaming God for it...and do something. God wants you to be independant too. If this was what you got yourself into, turn it the other way round. Prove to Him that nothing is gonna come in between you and God.

It is time that we look at a different perspective of what God wants from us. God wants to make sure we choose His way and non other than His. We should take every opportunity to tell ourselves that God has a plan for us and that's why we are facing all these difficulties in life. It is all about getting back up on our feet again and continue walking on, knowing that God will be your strength. We should not give up so easily when something hits you...Instead, smile about it and get up. Tell yourself that nothing is gonna hold you back from believing and trusting the One through Lord of your life. Be strong, be brave and tell yourself...YOU CAN DO IT. KEEP ON GOING AND NEVER LOOK BACK. The end of the journey is most important. God is all you ever need.

Prayer does work.

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Prayer is a powerful thing. God answers our prayer if we truly trust Him that He will. How do I know? Well, I experienced it many times since I was very young. Let me tell you a few of them which I can recall.

First experience: ~The missing MP3~

It happened when my cousin came over to Kuching to pay her relatives a visit (includes my family and I). She happened to have brought along her brand new, MP3 which was still quite popular that time, compared to now, Ipod is better.
So, she showed it to me and I was sooo amazed and excited all at the same time. (Little kid ma) I asked her if I could borrow it from her…and she surprisingly said yes…as long I took good care of it.
Because I liked it so much, I brought the MP3 wherever I went, except to the toilet. Then, deng deng deng deng…I left the MP3 in the car after we went out to lunch. After dropping us off at my uncle’s house, my mum took the car to the airport to fetch some of my other relatives with the MP3 still in it. When the car came back, I realized that I did not have it with me and remembered I left it in the car.
So, off I went to the car to get it, but it then shocked me that it was missing, gone from where I had put it. My eyes widened…my heart pounded so fast…I could barely breathe.
I was so afraid because I lost something expensive which did not belong to me…I knew that my cousin was not going to forgive me.
I started blaming myself for being so absent minded and careless. I told myself that I was not worthy to be trusted at all…and that it was all my fault. After searching for the lost MP3 around the house…I gave up and told my cousin about it. I promised her that I would pay her back every cent she had spent for it, whatever it takes.
When mum drove us back to our own home, something came up in my mind and told me to pray to God about it. So, quickly I went upstairs into my room where I was alone, crying hopelessly and praying at the same time asking God that the MP3 would be found.
As I finished praying…I dried my tears and quietly went downstairs. My mum had just put down the phone when i walked into the living room. This then gave me a very big surprise. My mum told me that she had just finished speaking to my aunt whom she had fetch from the airport, and she has the MP3. I was like... :O....speechless. I was overjoyed not only because i did not have to pay a large sum of money for it, but that Someone had answered my prayer. xD

2nd experience: The 'Ferari' which could not start.

This happened yesterday, when we were on our way to Emily's house to head off to Pyramid to celebrate Damien's birthday. Well, this 'Ferari' is a nickname to an old car which is well....very OLD, you know what i mean. And yea, it could not start, although we were running late. I went "Of all the days, why now??? Here with me, I have Damien's b'day cake and I need to be at pyramid asap because we need to hide it...but....the car isn't moving???? T.T I started panicking..."oh no, what am i gonna do...??" After many tries of trying to start the car...I quickly said a short prayer in my heart, and before you know it...the engine started!!!! Then my face went like this again... :O...speechless AGAIN. I was so Happy and thankful to God all at the same time.

So there you have it. I really believe prayer does work because God hears every word which comes out of your mouth, in your heart, in your thoughts. God is always listening. God is truly an amazing God, amen? :) So, I hope this post have inspired you a little to never give up in praying and that you should never ignore prayer. even praying for your food is important. :) So bare in mind, Prayer is powerful if we continue to do it everyday and let it be part of your life. You will see that miracles do happen...So let's continue praying!!!!~ ^^

NOVEMBER'08 ISLAND ADVENTURES @ TEENACITY HOME PARTIES
Teenacity Home Parties November 2008

Be grateful.

Thursday, November 6, 2008

Yesterday, there was this customer who entered the shop with her son. She was on the phone chit-chatting to someone and it took her half an hour till she had nothing else to say to the other on the other line. She then switched off her phone and approached the counter.

" So sorry for chit-chatting long in your shop. Anyway, I am here to buy a dog for my son. But I'm not sure how to keep a dog, cause i have no experience on taking care of pets. Can you teach me how before I choose the dog?" asked the lady.

" Okay sure. First of all........bla bla bla bla(goes on)...........when it poos......bla bla bla (goes on again)..........just like that. " explained the shop keeper.

"Wow....that's a lot of responsibility." said the lady. She then turns to her son beside her and asked," Do you really want a dog? You need to clean up the poo and wee wee you know?? Don't ask me to do it cause i won't."

"Awww, mum. Can you help me to do it? I can't do it all by myself... I don't know how to..:(" said the boy.

" No.. I'm not gonna do it. You want a dog, you've got to take care of it. Mummy has no time for all this. So, do you still want a dog?? "answered the lady.

The boy gave a nod.

The lady turns back to the shop keeper once more and said " Well, this means i really have to get one. But I'm not sure if I am able to cope with it though."

"Are you working now? If you aren't, it's okay. You can watch and take care of the dog better. You can pay more attention to it too." explained the shopkeeper.

" Well, I'm not working yet. But soon, I will be. That's why...I'm not sure if I've got the time to care for a dog now. But still, I've got to get one for my son cause he wants a baby brother. The thing is I can't give him a baby brother because I'm divorced for 4 years now. I told him i could only get him a dog." answered the lady.

Shopkeeper was surprised at this and felt sorry for both of them. "Sorry to hear that. But how are you now? You okay with everything?" asked the shopkeeper.

"Yes, I'm used to it already. Well, first year...it was quite messy here and there. I went a bit wild...but after a while..I got better. I'm actually happy that I'm single again. It's easier for me and my son. We both are now staying in an apartment. And we are okay living by ourselves. " answered the lady.

"Well, good to hear. Most important is that you stay healthy and make sure you yourself is okay." said the shopkeeper.

"Yea, thanks for the advice. So, I think i should pick a dog now. Oh gosh. (laughs)" said the lady.

So, have you guys/girls got the important part of this conversation?? I hope so. Well, it's hard for the children who had to grow up without a mother or a father. Think of how much pain and depression they had to go through living with their single parent. I don't think we can even imagine it, cause we were blessed with both of our parents living together.

The boy was only about 7 to 8 years old. Minus 4 years means the father left when he was 3 to 4 years old. He was so young...and the only child his mother could ever love. Imagine if they never had this boy as their son, what would happen to the lady?? She may have gone to do something stupid like committing suicide.

I think what gave her hope to continue living was her one and only son. If she lost him too, I think she wouldn't have been alive till today.

This is what God is trying to tell us. He too had only ONE son...but He gave him up to save us...so that we sinners may have the life he wants us to have. He wanted the best for us...and so, in order to do that...He sacrificed his son. This proves that His love is unconditional and is beyond our widest imagination.

Always remember Him for what He has done for us. Never take Him for granted.
By the way, this conversation really took place. It's real. Lol..just to let you know. :)

One blessing and more to come...

Saturday, November 1, 2008

Question of today: Have you ever experienced a blessing or noticed a blessing which was given
to you.?

We as Christians believe that by doing what God wants, He will bless us back, right? Sometimes, we think that God never blesses us back when we've done good. We think God does not appreciate what we have done to bless others. Well, think again.

God sees every action and hears every word we say and do. He even hears your thoughts and your heart. Every step we take to bless the people around us makes God happy and whole of heaven rejoice. In the Bible, it stated that when we do right in God's eyes, He will bless us back with more than what we have hoped for.

But this does not mean He will make you rich or anything right away. He blesses you in other ways. He can bless you back by giving you good exam results, enough money to buy food when you think it's not enough, friends that do not walk away from you, another day to live and many more. It is important that we think back of the good experiences we've gone through and reflect it back to God. After all, your life is in His hands. He created you, breathed life into you, and made you become who you are today.

However, we must still continue to thank Him for whatever we go through, either good or bad.
When tough challenges come our way, it could be a sign of God testing you. We should be on an alert and make sure we make a right decision. Every second counts.

God's blessing to me:
Last night, Pui Teng and her mum willingly paid everything for our dinner at Don Sushi, which I think was quite expensive. I think of this as God's blessing to me because I have never eaten in a Japanese restaurant for quite a while now, since 2 years ago. Furthermore, the food there was not as cheap as eating fast food. (>.<) So, I'm really thankful that I was given the chance to taste Japanese food once more although I had bad experiences with Jap. food before. Don't ask why.

So, I challenge you guys/girls to always be on a look out for God's blessing to you whenever and wherever you are. Noticing it and thanking Him for it makes God appreciated and proud to have you as His child in Christ. Don't upset and disappoint Him.

That's all from me today. See you till the next post! ~Byebye~

Yours truly, Eilene.
